Last Night, Slight Godsend

Thank god I have the family I do. Thank Shinata. Haha. Shinata's my doll, she used to be the main doll of my shrine. She's pretty and Korean, not all crappy like those porcelain dolls you see on TV. She has a silk dress and is made of cloth, but isn't soft. I like her a lot. Her hair is neat.. Pretty..

So, last night, mom was there to save my ass from depression, yet again.
I swear, she always wins at that.

I was talking to my brother, and it was before she had known. I was feeling low, as usual, and I mentioned it to Alex. He asked why I was 'emo'. I admitted I just lost a friend. He asked who. I hesitated. Of course, that made it goddamned obvious. "PRINTER BOY!?" I was like "Oh gawd, I'll kill you". He said it was okay, and said like they say in M.I.B... "It's better to have love and have lost than to never had loved at all". Coming from him, this was an odd thing indeed. I guess he's not that mean, but he'll still be rude. Anyway, after his "comforting" which includes calling me emo and saying he was glad it was over.. (he doesn't mean to be mean, it's just his way).. Yeah, well his serious advice was: "A working relationship is with someone who's in driving distance". I have to say, it makes sense.

Anyway, mom came up, noticed how I wasn't doing my homework. I was like 'Goddamn, I really don't wanna deal with this right now'. She got upset with me. So I had Alex, over chat, explain to her what I was going through, because I really didn't want to say it.

And with that, mom understood, and went into supportive mode instead of 'get the hell to bed' mode.

And with that, another night of story telling to get my mind off things.

Gramps getting spare parts for a teeter-totter from the junkyard. Al's Candy Store. Her birthday, about 54 Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Meeting dad, her engagement to Red. Cheating on Red. Breaking up with Red. Finding out he was cheating too. Biking over to visit Dad. Amy, her good friend and roommate. Her nightly bible reading.
My favorite part.. Gah, it really gave me a laugh.

My dad is an extreme atheist. One time he came to visit mom at her apartment or whatever, and in the other room, he heard Amy reading her bible aloud. He was like "Hey, what's that..?" and mom told him "Oh, it's Amy reading her bible." He was like "Haha! You're kidding!!" and she was like "No, I'm serious!" So dad got a big grin and knowing how you could hear through the wall, starting bouncing on the bed, making it squeak. Mom was horrified and kinda annoyed at him, because he was having a good laugh, as it sounded like they were doing it. She was like "Jim!!!" and then was going to yell to Amy that he was kidding, but he covered her mouth. She gave him a good whack for that later. It was my dad's way of saying, if your going to be the saved reading your bible aloud, we'll be the sinners in the other room.
That amused me greatly.

Anyway, she continued telling me weird stories, and I talked too. I told her about odd dreams I'd had. So I managed to sleep in, a bit late on accident, but I slept, which is good.
